Since 1978 Dance Umbrella has been breaking new ground in the UK’s cultural life, establishing itself as one of the “world’s largest and most prestigious festivals of modern dance” (New York Times). Following Betsy Gregory’s announcement that she will stand down in November 2013, Dance Umbrella is looking for a new Artistic Director to pursue its mission to bring brave new dance to London.

As Artistic Director you will provide clear, inspiring artistic leadership for all Dance Umbrella’s activities, leading the next phase of Dance Umbrella’s creative life. As Dance Umbrella’s Chief Executive, you will also be responsible for ensuring Dance Umbrella’s financial and organisational success.

You will demonstrate the ability to be an inspiring and enterprising artistic leader, with the vision, experience, knowledge and international networks to change the landscape of the UK’s dance world. You will be a skilled communicator and manager, able to work effectively with people at all levels and maximise Dance Umbrella’s income from all sources.
