IFA: Call for proposal 2013

IFA – InteatroFestival Academy is the residential program of research and professional training, promoted and founded in 2006 by Inteatro, that gives the opportunity to young performers to work with established artists of the international theatre and dance scene for the development of their practice.

In its 8th edition IFA proposes

A PERIOD OF RESIDENTIAL WORK including:

– 3 workshops with the artists  Cláudia Dias (PT), Geraldine Pilgrim (GB),Idoia Zabaleta (ES), to let the participants gain suggestions and sparks useful for the development of the projects;

– 1 week of study, to improve the projects;

– the presentation to a Jury of Professionals that will select the most interesting projects to be presented in the frame of InteatroFestival 2013;

– an additional period of research of 1 month, reserved for participants involved in selected projects, to create and set up the works.

John Ashford (GB), Director of Aerowaves [European network for research and presentation of emerging dance companies with partnerships in over 30 countries], confirmed his presence in the selection Jury and for the artistic tutoring.

Moreover, the selected projects could be also presented in the winter festivalDanza al Museo (October > December 2013, in the Marche region museums).

RECIPIENTS > The program has 15 vacencies for young artists/performers  agedbetween 18 and 35 years, of different nationalities.

The selection is primarily addressed to dancers, choreographers, performers with experience in dance / physical theatre / circus.

SELECTION BY DOSSIER > The applicants will be selected on the basis of the proposed research project.

This can be a “solo” or a show/performance that foresees the participation of other performers (the author may ask the other IFA participants to take part in the project).

The proposed project must be original.

PARTICIPATION TERMS > The IFA program provides lodging, workspace, assistance and support. In the guest house of Villa Nappi there is kitchen facilities, common space and free wifi area. To participate in the program we require a fee to cover the costs of the attendance, lodging, work and study spaces. Participants are responsible for their travel, living costs and personal insurance.

Date as postmark is NOT valid.

Applications must include: letter of motivation; curriculum vitae with personal details; research project proposal (max 2 A4); video and photo materials.

The received applications will not be returned.
