The Spanish choreographic «Entomo» by Spanish artists Elías Aguirre and Álvaro Esteban will be on tour in the U.S.

This 12-minute piece by the Spanish choreographic duet Entomo has won 1st prize at the Burgos-New York contest (Spain, 2010) and 1st prize at the Iberoamerican Dance Contest Alicia Alonso (2010, Cuba) for the «maturity with which it was conceived […] by an original and daring duo that arouses many existential and philosophical implications in the audience.»

The Spanish choreographic duo won first prize at the Burgos-New York contest (Spain, 2010); first prize at the Alicia Alonso Latin American Dance Competition (2010, Cuba), winning plaudits for «the maturity of its conception… by an original and daring duo who arouse numerous existential and philosophical suggestions in the audience». Their choreography recreates a space «where insects and humans come together. Through a magnifying glass we observe two tiny creatures and the micro-cosmos surrounding them. They could be humans, they could be insects. Territoriality, the conquest of spaces». «Where insects and humans come together. Entomo also received the Audience Prize at the Madrid Superior Dance Conservatory Prize (2009) and third prize at the Capturadanza dance-video contest (Madrid, 2010).

«Entomo» is also a recipient of Audience Prize and Superior Dance conservatory Proze at Madrid Contest (2009) and 3rd Prize at the Capturadanza dance-video contest (Madrid, 2010).

«Entomo»  will be on tour in the U.S. on april and May 2012, taking part of Kennedy Center´s «Look Both Ways»: Street Arts Across America (Wasgington, DC) and SOMArts´ «Night Licght: A Multimedia Garden Party» (San Francisco, CA).Venues in Chicago and Albuquerque TBA.
